Chamber Members taking action
We encourage you to become involved in one of the Chamber's Committees. These groups are both functional and fun - you'll meet new people, participate in community events, and support the Chamber's mission to make Missoula a stronger community. Take a look at our current committees below and please contact The Chamber if you would like more information about any of these groups.
Members of the Agri-Business Committee act as liaisons between the agricultural and business communities. Their goal is to foster a better understanding and appreciate of agriculture in Western Montana and encourage individuals in the Ag Community to do business in Missoula. This group coordinates and plans the annual Agri-Business Banquet and participates in the Livestock Extravaganza.
Business Networking Groups
Group members meet once a week to share ideas, information and mentor and learn from each other as they facilitate generating business leads for members of the group through a networking environment. There are 5 networking groups that range in size from 7 – 20 members. Each group includes only one representative each industry. We currently offer 5 active Business Networking Groups who meet weekly and bi-weekly.
The Missoula Chamber Rangers are comprised of long-standing Chamber member business owners and representatives who graciously welcome new members to the Chamber. The Rangers perform ribbon cuttings, which are a free benefit provided to new or expanding Chamber member businesses.
The Chamber Red Coats serve as the public relations arm of the Chamber. These volunteers participate in monthly events like Business After Hours and coordinate the annual Red Ripper Golf Tournament. They also assist with community events like the UM Homecoming Parade, St. Patrick's Day Parade and Special Olympics Opening Ceremonies and special events as requested.
Forest Resources Committee
The goal of this committee is to increase communication between timber-related businesses and educate the public regarding responsible and sustainable forest management. The members of the Forest Resources Committee, coordinate the Timber Tour each fall for community members and members of the business community as well as Forest Discovery Days in the spring for local 5th grade students.
Our mission is to increase public awareness by providing an opportunity for communication and education regarding health-related issues among Missoula"s business community, health care community and the general public. The HealthWise Series, sponsored by Community Medical Center and Missoula Health Guide, in coordination with the Missoulian are both current programs of the Missoula Chamber Health & Safety Committee.
The Chamber Ambassadors act as representatives to the membership and community by communicating the positive benefits of the Chamber.They act as hosts of the Chamber"s Annual Banquet - a celebration of Missoula business and a ceremony to honor the Chamber"s leadership - offering networking opportunities for members and providing an entertaining evening for area professionals. The Ambassadors also visit local businesses and goodwill trips to fellow communities.
Missoula Young Professionals
The Missoula Young Professionals Committee provides events designed to engage young people (21 to"young at heart") to area firms and help them become more competitive in the business arena. The program helps young professionals establish a web of business contacts through networking and to grow both personally and professionally through a variety of program topics and venues.
Workforce Development, Education and Recruitment
The Workforce Development, Education and Recruitment committee brings experts together to help people find their own best place - the work place - via targeted education, skill development, and relevant on-site work experience.
