Missoula Young Professionals provides events designed to engage young people (21 to "young at heart") from area firms and help them become more competitive in the business arena. The program helps young professionals establish a web of business contacts through networking and grow both personally and professionally through a variety of program topics and venues.

The MYP networking events are held on the third Tuesday of each month from 5-7 pm at various member businesses. We offer networking, prizes, food and beverages and often times a volunteer opportunity. All are welcome. Join us!

Mikayla Halone- Chair

Mikayla Halone is a Human Resource Representative with Blackfoot, an innovative communications, broadband and IT solutions provider.

A self-proclaimed “HR nerd” Mikayla most enjoys when her responsibilities include development in effective workforce programs/polices that allow employees to be their most effective and creative selves.

Mikayla relocated to Missoula after college in summer 2016 and immediately joined Missoula Young Professionals as a way to start building her business network and meeting people in her new city. Mikayla is also an active member of the Big Sky Chapter of SHRM.

Outside work, she enjoys all the live music and winter recreation Missoula has to offer!

Jessica Patrick- Vice Chair

Jessica Patrick joined the Missoula Young Professionals Steering Committee in the Summer of 2017 and became the Vice Chair in 2019. She joined the MYP team so she could become more involved in the community and meet other like-minded young professionals starting out in their careers.

Jessica moved to Missoula in the fall of 2011 to attend the University of Montana. While attending college, she started working at the Doubletree Missoula as a Sales Admin, and later promoted to the Catering Sales Manager, which combines her creativity with her love of planning.

When not working, she enjoys being outside- hiking, skiing, floating and drinking beer from any of the amazing local craft breweries.

Emily Brennan

Emily Brennan has been with Stockman Bank of Montana—Missoula since they opened their doors in 2015. She has worked as a teller, customer service representative, loan assistant, and now a consumer lender at Stockman Bank.

Emily grew up in a small Montana town right in between Butte and Bozeman where her family owns and operates a cattle ranch. She graduated from the University of Montana with a Bachelors in Business Administration and a minor in English. Upon graduation she was lucky enough to find a job that kept her in the great community of Missoula.

In her spare time, Emily enjoys cooking, hiking, swing dancing, reading, and traveling.

Tyrell McPherson

Originally from eastern MT, Tyrell came to Missoula in 2010 to attend the University of Montana, where he obtained Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Mathematics. Following graduation, Tyrell spent nearly a year employed with local engineering firm Territorial-Landworks, Inc. (TLI) before moving to California’s Bay Area to work as an analyst for a Financial Tech company. In the summer of 2017, Tyrell found his way back to Missoula and returned to the team at TLI shortly thereafter. He has held several positions with the firm, and currently works in the Finance Department as Business Support Specialist.

Tyrell’s pursuit of personal and professional development led him to join the Missoula Young Professionals in 2019, where he hopes his energy and passion for continuous growth and improvement will help make a positive impact in the community he is proud to call home. In addition to serving on the MYP Steering Committee, Tyrell is also the Secretary of the Board for the Missoula Midtown Association.

Outside of work, Tyrell enjoys reading, golfing, cooking, playing with his pup, and rooting for his favorite sports teams.
